This is our launch site (er, campsite) at MacKerricher, strategically located across the road from the bathroom and next to the water tap. We got a chuckle out of the bear warnings after we discovered we were supposed to put our trash in everyday, ordinary non-bear-proof trash cans. At home, we go sailing at a park with bears. You can always tell by the trash cans.
Me and the oldest on a rock at the tidepools, as taken by Mr. Boo. We saw anemones, hermit crabs, turban snails, and fish, but no starfish. I really wanted to see a wild starfish.
The kids, on the other hand, were just as thrilled to photograph dead crab.
And turkey vultures.
But they did see lots of seals sunning themselves and barking up a storm.
Pelican Flyby
Tidepools
A lot of the hermit crabs were living in turban snail shells, in case you're wondering.
WMBC is a project spearheaded by my husband, the Amazing SuperDave. Please, do visit. Download some free posters and bulletins while you're there, and share 'em around.

Issac says, "The hermit crabs and everything was cool. I liked when she said would you like a hermit crab for supper?
Canada geese fly like the pelicans--we have lots.
Tell Mr. Boo I owned a hermit crab. It died.
And I like hot dogs. Mr. Boo's funny."
